This is because a GHc230000 Community-Based Health Planning and Services popularly called CHPS compound inaugurated by the previous government about a year ago is not operational.

The facility has been left to rot while access to health care still remains a headache in the area.
It is an unfortunate incident, in this era when many communities are deprived of basic health facilities.

With the current state of the country’s condition of health provision and access to health facilities in which a lot of pressure seem to be on the major health facilities, it would only be prudent if compounds such as this one are put to use immediately they are completed, this will provide residents close to the facility a place where they can visit for primary health care.
It is not uncommon to hear leaders in Ghana’s health sector calling for access to health facilities in communities to ease pressure on major facilities.
